Rigby!

An relatively old one as well, seeing as I haven't been shooting anything interesting lately. Rigby, a reasonably well-known Dutch band with rubbish songs, played at the Underground back in.. April, I think? Anyway, here they are!

Vine-Yard

As I'm not doing much at the moment, I suppose I'd better update this thing with previously taken pictures. Today Vine-Yard, a local Lelystadsy band which I saw in Trapnotov, Almere back in March. I only took a few pictures, so there's not much to post, but I'll post what I have anyway. The stage was kind of small and the lighting quite rubbish, but I liked their sound. ^^

Note to self: THANK GAWD for my qwerty-keyboard. Azerty is.. just... odd. ;_;

First publication

About a year ago, I participated in a gig photography thing by CJP and the Volkskrant. Along with 20 others, I went to the Grote Prijs van Nederland (a band competition for upcomming bands) and used my camera to take pictures. Mine, along with those of three others, was published in CJP magazine a month later.

I reminded of this recently, because they're holding the same workshop again, and they're showing my picture there (uncredited D:) again.

Anyway, I must say I'm not really fond of it. It's a bit cartoon-ish-y, not a real action photo, but my camera carn't handle much detail. It's always pretty noise-y. Anyway, the original:

First!

One of the first pictures I remember taking was at - I think it was my second - Five O'Clock Heroes gig. Used a rubbish camera, obviously without manual settings, otherwise the shutterspeed-blur wouldn't've been so bad, but I kind of like the effect.

Enjoy!

Destine!

Not too long ago, I went to see Destine (for the second time) as a support act for Attack! Attack!

Hadn't heard of Attack! Attack! and... Destine pretty much sucked the first time I saw them, so badly even that I went home after a song or two, but they were alright now and the lights were pwetty :3
Not that I really bothered taking pictures, as I wasn't really at the front of the stage, but alright. The Laurens-Hubrecht-white haired guy was kind of close so I have quite a lot of pictures of him. Here they are!

One Year Camera Anniversary.

Yes, I just realised, it's my one-year-camera anniversary. One year and one day ago, I was at a Franz Ferdinand and the Cribs gig in the Heineken Music Hall (which was brilliant, by the way. Awesome visual and light effects.) and I realised I liked taking pictures during the gig. The day after, which is one year ago today, I went to get a Sony DSC-HX1. I knew fuck all about cameras, so I just got one that had a special setting for 'dark' scenes.

It's no DSLR, it's not awesomely professional, it doesn't work that good in dark scenes after all, but it's mine and I'm glad with it. ^^

The day after I got it, I went to Eindhoven to see Pete Doherty. No, I knew nothing about getting the settings right, it was mostly on the automatic Twilight setting, but nevertheless, I got some pretty pictures. The first I ever took.

Some random pic-throwing.

Ah, like I said, I'd throw around random pictures.
So where aaaaare they, you ask?
Well... HERE.
*points down*

I took these on my birthday, September 11th, when Bettie Serveert was playing in the local venue. For some reason the picture seems to lose quality uploading it here.

Oh hai!

I suppose this is an hellow.

And a welcome. Welcome to this *cough* 'photography' *cough* blog, otherwise and perhaps better known as 'shameless pic dump'.

I reckon I could bother to write a proper introduction, telling you all (whoever you are) who I am and what I'm planning to do with this thing, but honestly... I don't quite know yet. I suppose I just want a place to dump (or should I use the fancy "post", manipulating you into thinking it's not just dumping?) random photos I've taken, where I can actually write some random stuff as well.To go with the pictures, explaining things, putting everything into context. I know that a picture is supposed to be worth a thousand words, but honestly, I love words as well, so you'd better live with both.

So.
I guess this is the end of the hello and the welcome. Seems like I've introduced myself well enough, for now. Perhaps I could leave you with a picture, so I learn how on earth to add those things to a blog and you're left there, behind your computers, hungry for more. Many, many more. Eh eh eh. >:3

Emo BarĂ¢t. Fucking epic.:D
